VOLUNTEER
GOLF HOLE MAINTENANCE
EAGLES
MERE COUNTRY CLUB MEMBERS
Our lovely golf course has never looked better. Don Keefer and
his staff have done a marvelous job in rebuilding and maintaining our course
through the years and the results really show. Jackie Pacacha has done
wonderful things in beautifying the area around the pro shop. More can and
should be done by our members. There are things that the members could help
with such as repairing ball marks on the greens, replacing divots on the tees
and fairways, and picking up paper and golf tees and depositing them in the
trash containers on each tee.
In order to
improve our diligence in completing these tasks, the Golf Committee and the
Greens Committee have suggested that the membership be divided into 18 more or
less equal groups and given the responsibility for one hole per group. For
example, those members with last names beginning with 'A' would be responsible
for maintaining the 18th hole, those with a last name beginning with
'B' would be responsible for the 17th hole, and so forth. Perhaps
we'll even have a little contest to see which group or groups do the better
jobs.
